Slovenska plaza marks 40 years - a milestone celebration in Budva
Last night's celebration highlighted the significant role that Slovenska plaža played in the reconstruction of Budva after the devastating earthquake in 1979, as well as its ongoing importance for tourism in Montenegro.
"Slovenska plaža is a landmark of Budva and Montenegro, and the heart of our hotel group. It is a hotel complex that was ahead of its time when it was established in 1984, based on the vision of the Slovenian architect Janez Kobe. For four decades, it has remained a place where both domestic and foreign guests gladly return, even in challenging times. The Company's management is firmly committed to making Slovenska plaža the most competitive resort on the Adriatic by further enhancing its accommodation capacities and elevating the quality of the villas to a four-star standard," said Miomir Pejović, president of the Board of Directors of HG Budvanska Riviera.
Jovan Gregović, the executive director of HG Budvanska Riviera, also commented on the significant successes achieved by Slovenska plaža over the past 40 years.
"For these incredible 40 years, we have gained the trust of guests who see Slovenska plaža, as well as the Budvanska Riviera Hotel Group, as synonymous with quality and a diverse tourist offering. The trust our guests have shown is reflected in our business growth. Our company’s development strategy, which aligns with the next five-year cycle, aims to firmly establish HG Budvanska Riviera as an internationally recognized brand, offering a year-round array of hotel services that provide guests with an authentic experience, all while fully respecting the principles of sustainable tourism," said Gregović. He also acknowledged that the significant successes of Slovenska plaža are due in large part to both former and current employees, who played a vital role in celebrating this four-decade jubilee.
The Minister of Tourism, Ecology, and Sustainable Development of the North of Montenegro, Vladimir Martinović, emphasized the importance of Slovenska plaža for tourism in Budva and Montenegro as a whole.
"Slovenska plaža is not only the jewel of Budva but also the pride of the entire country, and decision-makers need to recognize this," Martinović stated.
Following the official speeches, guests enjoyed a music and entertainment program featuring performances by Boris Novković, Daniel Popović, violinist Verica Čuljković, City Music Budva, the Croatian Association of Artistic Swimming, City Choir Budva, and KUD "Kanjoš."
